Tips & Tricks: Keeping Wellbeing in Mind During the Holidays

With the holiday season officially upon us, it’s easy to feel tempted to fall prey to the temptation to give up on the progress you’ve made towards your wellbeing goals over the last few months. But that doesn’t have to be the case!

In addition to five key tips from Sarah, DHS Group’s resident Certified Wellness Coach, take a look at some other ideas from the DHS Group team on how you can enjoy this season AND keep your goals in mind.

Sarah’s Tips for Keeping Healthy this Holiday Season

  1. Stay hydrated. This means, trying your best to drinks a minimum of 64 oz. of water per day (don’t get overwhelmed by the number, think of it as just eight 8 oz. glasses).
  2. Wash your hands! Cold and flu season is upon us and if you’re going to keep up with your other health and wellness goals, it’s important you’re feeling good yourself.
  3. Plan! In the morning, take a look at the day ahead and plan out healthy snacks and meals ahead of time. Just five minutes of planning will help you have easy access to healthy snacks to assist in staying on track.
  4. Get moving! Incorporate workouts into your daily schedule. If you don’t have time to work out every day, make an effort to park a little farther away in the parking lot or take a lap around the office during an afternoon or lunch break.
  5. Treat yourself! It’s important to let yourself enjoy the season, but savor it instead of overindulging – have that glass of wine or piece of pie, but don’t drink the whole bottle or sit in front of the TV with the entire pie and a fork in hand.
